The bedroom was lovely. the bed was comfortable and clean. i really enjoyed the size of the room and the little details like the tea kettle. the garden and overall ambience were relaxing. I appreciated the quiet atmosphere.
the overhead light turned off the electricity. i could not charge my phone during the night or turn on the nightlight without the whole room being lit.

Some issues noted

loud ventilation small room
The room was small (i wasn't expecting this). The ventilation made a VERY loud noise and staff did nothing about it. The overhead light switch cut off all power, so charging devices overnight was impossible without all the lights on.

generous room great selection
My room included many charging units by the bed. The room size was generous and it was clean. Breakfast from the buffet offered a great selection. I could also order anything specifically I wanted from the menu.
The pictures online showed a lot of light, this was not the case. My room's window was very small.

Excellent stay near the city center

key attraction bright room high quality food
I enjoyed the hotel's proximity to key attractions. It was a short walk to Holyrood Palace. The room provided was bright and spacious, exceeding my initial expectations. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were both really good. The service matched the high quality of the food. The staff were helpful and friendly.
The lack of assistance with luggage upon arrival was unexpected and inconvenient, particularly considering i was travelling.

The staff were friendly and helpful, in particular lucy at reception made arrival cute. Emma in the bar was also very efficient and accommodating to all requests, which i greatly appreciated.

Good Choice for Short Stay

great location comfy bed great size coffee machine
I thought the location was pretty good, though you need to like walking hills. The breakfast room was gorgeous and had a lot of options. My room was a great size, also the bed was very comfy. I found the coffee machine a great addition.
The TV in my room had only terrestrial channels available. The selection was rather limited. I found this somewhat disappointing for a hotel of this level.
Location
9/10
The hotel has a great location, despite some hills for walking. The location is not far from the Royal Mile. Carlton Hill is very close, and Arthur's Seat is a short walk away.
Facilities
8/10
The hotel has meeting rooms that are perfect. Breakfast has many options . The hotel is a beautiful building, with a garden. There is tram access nearby for airport transportation.
